My Story
I’m Neil Beckett, a freelance WordPress developer based in the UK. I care about building sites that run fast, last long, and make life easier for the people who manage them.
How I got here
I built my first website in the early 2000s, a hand-coded page for a friend’s band that somehow worked on dial-up. It wasn’t pretty, but it sparked something that’s still with me today: the joy of making something functional, simple, and useful.
Over the years I’ve gone from early hobbyist to full-time freelancer, learning that technical skill matters, but so do empathy, communication, and knowing when not to overcomplicate things.
These days I care just as much about how I work as what I build. I’ve learned that the best results don’t come from late nights or overengineering; they come from calm focus, clear expectations, and treating people well.

Working with people, not projects
Over the years I’ve met all kinds of people who care about doing things properly. They value clear communication, steady progress, and websites that stay fast and easy to look after.

01 · Audit
Before making any changes, I take time to understand how your WordPress site is built and where issues are coming from. That can include checking performance data, hosting or plugins to uncover the real causes of problems.
-
02 · Plan
Once the issues are clear, I outline the work in order of impact and effort. You will see what is included, how long it will take and what outcomes to expect. No surprises, just a clear path from problem to solution.
-
03 · Deliver
This is where the work happens. I focus on practical fixes, performance improvements and clean integrations that make daily management easier. Everything is tested carefully so the site runs smoothly and stays reliable.

04 · Sustain
After the main work is complete, I help you keep things running at their best. That includes updates, monitoring and small refinements over time. The goal is simple: lasting performance and peace of mind, and clear WordPress advice you can rely on long after the work is done.
